“We will use overwhelming lethal force until we achieve our goals,” Trump said in his post as quoted by Aljazeera.
The post appeared moments after media linked to the Houthis in Yemen announced the US attack.
Reuters reported that at least nine people were killed in the attack on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

Meanwhile, in his post, Trump stated that the Houthi group deserved to be punished for being involved in piracy, violence, and terrorism against the US.
“They have waged a relentless campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American and other ships, planes, and drones,” Trump said.
He said the Houthi militia group had targeted US ships, planes, troops, and allies.
“Houthi attacks on American ships will not be tolerated,” said the US Republican.
“We will use very strong lethal force until we achieve our goals,” he added.
Trump also warned Iran, which is the ‘main supporter’ of the Houthi militia, to stop their assistance to the group.
He also warned that if Iran continues to threaten the US, then “America will hold you fully accountable, and we will not be nice about it!”
Quoting Reuters, the Yemeni Ministry of Health reported that nine civilians were killed and nine others were injured in the attack on Sanaa.
Residents in Sanaa said the attack hit a building housing the Houthi group.
“The explosion was powerful and shook the neighborhood like an earthquake. Our women and children were scared,” one resident, Abdullah Yahia, told Reuters.
Quoting from Aljazeera, the attack came days after the Houthi militia issued a threat to violators of the ban on Israeli ships sailing through the Red Sea and others.
Previously, the Houthi militia issued a statement that it would attack any Israeli ship that violates the ban on passing through the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.
The leader of the Yemeni Houthi group said the group was continuing its naval operations against Israel because the country did not lift its blockade of aid to Gaza within the four-day deadline set by the group. (red)
