WASPADA! Sebanyak 8.986 Warga Riau Terjangkit HIV/AIDS

PEKANBARU, detak24com – Sejak Januari hingga September 2023, sebanyak 8.986 orang terpapar kasus HIV/AIDS atau ODHA di Riau. Sebanyak 3.890 orang di antaranya telah mencapai stadium AIDS.
Demikian disampaikan Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Riau Zainal Arifin saat rapat Koordinasi Daerah Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA) Provinsi Riau, Senin (27/11/23). Penemuan kasus HIV Provinsi Riau saat ini mencapai 81 persen dari 11.093 estimasi penyebaran HIV di Provinsi Riau.
Zainal mengatakan, temuan kasus di Provinsi Riau mengarah kepada populasi umum. Dimana, jumlah terbesar berada di Kota Pekanbaru dengan temuan kasus sebanyak 5.244 orang.
Temuan kasus pada ibu rumah tangga menduduki ranking ketiga terbesar. Jika dikelompokkan ke dalam kelompok usia, maka temuan kasus HIV terbesar ditemukan pada kelompok umur 25 – 45 tahun. Usia ini merupakan usia produktif,” katanya.
Zainal Arifin menyebut, temuan kasus pada homoseksual di 2023 ini lebih tinggi, dibandingkan dengan temuan kasus akibat perilaku heteroseksual yakni 57:69 orang.
“Hal ini perlu mendapatkan perhatian kita semua, khususnya dalam hal penyebaran HIV/AIDS baru. Karena dampaknya cukup serius,” sebutnya.
Zainal menjelaskan, bahwa Pemerintah Provinsi Riau sudah melakukan upaya untuk menanggulangi HIV/AIDS. Hal ini dilakukan dengan ditetapkannya Perda Nomor 4 tahun 2006 tentang Penanggulangan HIV/AIDS, dan kelembagaan Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS Provinsi Riau.
“HIV/AIDS merupakan masalah sosial kemasyarakatan dan pembangunan. Oleh karena itu, upaya penanggulangan HIV/AIDS harus diintegrasikan ke dalam program pembangunan nasional, provinsi dan kabupaten kota,” tutupnya dikutip dari CAKAPLAH. (*/berita)
